SUMMARY:Feds Gone AWOL: What to Do When Employees Don’t Show Up - February 6\, 2025
DESCRIPTION:You can’t discipline an employee for AWOL unless it has reached a certain number of days. Employees can’t be removed for AWOL. You can’t be charged AWOL for time that you were physically present in the office. None of these statements are true; they are AWOL myths. \nThis training will deconstruct the mystery of Absence Without Leave (and its companion charge\, Unauthorized Absence)\, shatter the aforementioned myths\, and offer strategies for agencies to take when an employee doesn’t show up for work. Plus\, we’ll discuss the emerging issue of charging AWOL when an employee is on telework. \nLearning objectives\n\nUnderstand the elements of the charges Absent Without Leave and Unauthorized Absence.\nDetermine reasonable penalties when AWOL is charged.\nIdentify situations where a perceived AWOL might be another type of absence.\n\nTraining time\n1:00 pm – 2:00 pm ET \nPricing\nEarly bird (register by January 6): $195.00 \nStandard (register January 7 – February 6): $250.00 \nEvent FAQs\nCan I attend this class using my government computer?\nThis event will be held on Zoom. Many government computers and systems allow Zoom access. If\, for some reason\, your firewall will not allow access\, you are welcome to use your personal email address to register and to attend the sessions from your personal device. If you are seeking CLE credit\, you may use the materials provided by FELTG in submission to your state bar. You may also request a certificate of completion which will contain the number of training hours attended. \nCan I share my access link with co-workers?\nNo. Registration for this event is per individual\, and access links may not be shared. Each link may only be used by one person. \nCan I register a teleworker?\nThis event is individual registration\, so the cost is the same whether the person is teleworking or attending from an agency facility. \nHow do I receive a group discount?\nGroup discounts are available for agencies registering 10 or more individuals for the full event by the early bird registration deadline. SUMMARY:Accountability for Conduct in 2025: 6-part Training Series - February 6 - July 10\, 2025
DESCRIPTION:An employee fails to report onsite and claims telework instead. Or ignores an order. Or gets arrested off-duty. What do you do? At FELTG\, we take accountability seriously.
