SUMMARY:The Blunt Truth: Marijuana and Drug Use in the Federal Workplace - June 3\, 2025
DESCRIPTION:Some in the incoming administration\, including the President\, have voiced support for the changing of marijuana from a Schedule I to a Schedule III substance. Meanwhile\, the drug is legal in 38 states for medicinal purposes\, and 24 for recreational purposes. And we continue to receive questions regarding Federal employees and their use\, whether recreationally\, medicinally\, or “accidentally” – of marijuana. \nThis course will review the laws that apply to Federal employees\, plus the latest guidance from the administration. We’ll also discuss relevant MSPB cases and share the most effective approach to managing and/or disciplining employees when their drug usage seeps into the workplace. \nLearning objectives\n\nUnderstand the law\, regulations\, and related guidance as it applies to marijuana legalization and Federal employees.\nIdentify applicable MSPB case law.\nImplement a last chance agreement when necessary.\n\nTraining time\n1:00 pm – 2:00 pm ET \nPricing\nEarly bird (register by May 5\, 2025): $195.00 \nStandard (register May 6 – June 5\, 2025): $250.00 \nEvent FAQs\nCan I attend this class using my government computer?\nThis event will be held on Zoom. Dial-in telephone access is also available. \nCan I earn CLE credits for this class?\nCLE applications are the responsibility of each attendee; FELTG does not apply for the credits on behalf of attendees. If you are seeking CLE credit\, you may use the materials provided by FELTG in submission to your state bar. You may also request a certificate of completion which will contain the number of training hours attended. \nCan I share my access link with co-workers?\nNo. Registration for this event is per individual\, and access links may not be shared.
