Course Description

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission recently released regulations for the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act (PWFA), and it’s been accepting charges on it since mid-2023. The final rule contains some significant changes from the proposed rule, and it’s critical to have the latest information when handling requests for pregnancy accommodation. If you’re looking for training that will include the latest information and provide everything you need to know about the PWFA, including a discussion of those new regulations, look no further.

In this two-hour presentation, Attorney at Law Katie Atkinson will answer questions, such as: What are your responsibilities under the PWFA? What medical conditions are covered? How long is a “temporary” pregnancy accommodation supposed to last? How do pregnancy protections under the PWFA differ from those under Title VII and the Americans with Disabilities Act?

Attendees will learn also how to:

  • Identify reasonable accommodations for pregnant employees.
  • Recognize actions prohibited under the PWFA.
  • Understand how the EEOC will analyze charges regarding accommodations for employees affected by pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions.
